Heritage Day is an important reminder of how culturally rich our country is. It is the day we celebrate our beautiful South Africa and our cultural diversity.

Ask any South African what they think of when you mention Heritage Day – we bet that “BRAAI” is the first word that pops to mind.

“Nou gaan ons BRAAI!”

Our inspiration for the day was “I am African, not because I was born in Africa, but because Africa is born in me.” – Kwame. Our B-Surians celebrated by showing off their heritage in their best cultural attire! And in true Saffa style, we ate jumbo gourmet boeries, Chip ‘n Dip and of course, the South African traditional Milk Tart!

While enjoying the wonderful feast, our B-Surians partook in a variety of activities including “Learn the Art of Henna”, “Make your Own Bracelet”, “Paint your own facemask” and the awesome competition of trying to get the rugby ball through the hanging tyres.

As part of Heritage Day, President Ramaphosa encouraged all South Africans to join in the #jerusalemachallenge, and B-Sure could not pass up the opportunity to fulfil the challenge. A large group of our dedicated B-Surians did not disappoint in dancing their hearts out to Jerusalema and the footage of our video is truly Spectacular! Go check it out on our Facebook and Instagram pages @bsuregroup.

We ended off a spectacular day with a message of unity through diversity and may we never forget where we came from and where we are going as one, as South African!
